License Plate Recognition or commonly known as its acronym of LPR, is a fully automated system. It captures photographic or video images of license plates where the visuals are scanned through a complex computer algorithm. This translates the visual license plates into text form.
The system is primarily used in traffic monitoring, traffic analysis, and gated security entrances. It is able to record every single registration plate even in difficult environments or extreme weather such as during the night, rainy season and foggy situation.
In addition, the advancement of the LPR system may automatically alert law enforcement officers to suspicious vehicles that could solve minor and serious crimes, hence providing a safer city for the public.
Features of the System
Single camera optics to simulate simultaneous recognition detection of multiple plates across numerous lanes.
Compatible with both camera types and software-based algorithms.
Seamless integration with barrier-gates, parking lots, and traffic enforcement systems.
License plate recognition on moving vehicles detectable up to 250 km/h.
Overall recognition quality is higher than 95% with sufficient light conditions.
Advanced reaction capabilities and automatic operator notification.
Able to perform recognition regardless of time, combating a wide range of weather environments to accentuate adaptability.
Able to support both blacklist or whitelist license plate databases, automatically triggering alarm upon detection.
Recognizes license plates from multiple countries.
Advanced search based on recognized plates, video sequence, and information of camera, time, date, location, and attributes of vehicle and direction of vehicle travel.
